Last week, former British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union president George Heyman disclosed he's thinking about running for the provincial New Democrat nomination in Vancouver-Fairview. But he might not be the only one with a labour leadership background who will be on the party ticket in the next election. Could it be that Hospital Employees' Union secretary-business manager Judy Darcy is also considering a shot at elected office? Perhaps she'll put her name forward for the nomination in New Westminster should NDP MLA Dawn Black decide not to seek re-election? After all, Ms. Darcy does seem to be trying to get her name out in that riding, recently penning a letter to the editor of the New West Record. Inquiring minds want to know!
