Labour council president makes bid for NDP nomination

Victoria Labour Council president Mike Eso is making a bid for the provincial New Democrat nomination in Saanich North and the Islands, Public Eye has learned. That riding is presently held by Liberal Murray Coell. But it's widely rumoured he won't be running for re-election. The riding was narrowly held by the Liberals in the 2009 election, with New Democrat challenger Gary Holman coming just 245 votes behind Mr. Coell.
