* the provincial New Democrats' top three officials are men - something some have stated is a no-no under the party's constitution. But, in an interview, one of those officials has said that rule was misinterpreted and he won't be stepping down;

* Canadian Union of Public Employees communications director Stephen Howard has been named provincial New Democrat leader Adrian Dix's new chief of staff; and

* the provincial capital commission could be spending up to $1.75 million more on seismic upgrades to Victoria's old Canadian Pacific Steamship Terminal.
