BC Liberal president won't be running for re-election

Mickey Patryluk has confirmed she won't be seeking another term as president of the provincial Liberals, having served in the position for the past ten years. "It's a long time to be the president of a political party. And I just think it's time to pass the torch to someone younger - somebody with new ideas," she told Public Eye. "Nobody is irreplaceable. I've enjoyed it. It's been a good run with a great guy" - a reference to now former premier Gordon Campbell. Ms. Patryluk's replacement will be chosen at the party's upcoming biennial convention in Penticton.
