The next provincial election may be weeks, months or even years away. But, as of this coming Sunday, Surrey-Green Timbers New Democrats will have chosen who they want their candidate to be in that election. Last month, we exclusively told you their constituency association had received party approval to hold an early nomination meeting. And now we can confirm incumbent MLA Sue Hammell is the only candidate in the running for that nomination. In an interview with Public Eye, constituency association president Brett Barden explained, "The party opened up nominations and we applied. We met the criteria. And we've gone ahead."
