Thorne rules out making a leadership endorsement

Earlier today, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows MLA Michael Sather told us he isn't planning on endorsing anyone in the provincial New Democrat leadership race. And now Public Eye has learned Coquitlam-Maillardville MLA Diane Thorne has similar plans. Speaking with Public Eye, Ms. Thorne explained, "Well, to be perfectly honest, my heart isn't in this at all. I'm still mourning the fact my candidate isn't running - and that would be Carole James. And, as far as the three top runners are concerned - John (Horgan), Mike (Farnworth) and Adrian (Dix) - I like all three of them. I think all three of them are very capable. And I'd work with any one of them." That means caucus chair Shane Simpson is the only "loose fish" NDP MLA left.
