In 2005, the provincial Liberals promised to make British Columbia the most literate jurisdiction in North America. But, six years later, the ministry of skills development has demonstrated that goal still hasn't been reached. In its recent released service plan the ministry notes it shares responsibility to '"Make British Columbian (sic) the best-educated, most literate jurisdiction on the continent' - with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Universities." Fancy that!
