Conroy ran against Karagianis in whip election

Last week, during a closed door meeting, the opposition filled a number of vacant positions on its caucus executive with former leader Carole James's loyalists. As we noted earlier, the most surprising news coming out of that meeting was hard-liner Maurine Karagianis's election as whip - a position that puts her in charge of caucus discipline. And now Public Eye has learned of a new twist to that story: dissident MLA Katrine Conroy also contested that election. Ms. Conroy had resigned from that same post just three months ago - a decision that was seen as another blow against Ms. James's leadership.

Katrina Conroy is weak weak and Karagianis is not much better.
