"She has the most support with BC Liberal supporters and is the only candidate who can reach out and bring new supporters to the party." That was the message provincial Liberal leadership candidate Christy Clark's campaign manager Mike McDonald sent to members of her team in an update memo distributed earlier today. Indeed, in an earlier interview with Trail Daily Times, Ms. Clark herself put an even finer point on that messaging. "I think they would do a pretty good job at being premier but they can't win," she told the newspaper in assessing her competitors - George Abbott, Mike de Jong, Kevin Falcon and Moira Stilwell. The following is a complete copy of the aforementioned memo, which was obtained by Public Eye.
