Systemic issues

The next provincial Liberal leader will be elected using a one member, one vote system...right? That's what the party's constitution says. But some of its movers and shakers want to change those rules so the leadership question will be decided via a delegated convention. The reason: there are concerns the voice of rural British Columbia won't be heard under a one member, one vote system. And there are those who also worry that system is highly susceptible to bulk membership sale and block vote tactics.

How rich and robust is your membership on the ground when you have such concentrated membership in urban/suburban areas? Or if you have inadequate systems for membership sales? Or that OMOV is less democratic than ANYthing else?

Do citizens really matter, then?
