HEU and UFCW aren't contributing to Sihota's stipend

Earlier, we exclusively reported the provincial New Democrats are paying party president Moe Sihota a stipend using a "generous, earmarked gift from the labour movement." In an earlier interview, British Columbia Federation of Labour head Jim Sinclair said his group has contributed $4,000 toward that gift. But the British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union hasn't put any money towards it. And, in interviews yesterday, spokespeople for the Hospital Employees' Union and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1518 said those groups aren't part of the gift givers. So who is?

All the "table officers" on the executive knew about this salary from the beginning, and the entire executive has known for some time.

Some "hardball" political consultants are furious that Sihota is being paid by the NDP, but they aren't.
