Penticton NDPers also calling for leadership race

Public Eye has exclusively learned of a second provincial New Democrat constituency association executive that wants to force a party leadership race. The executive in Penticton has passed a motion calling for a leadership convention in 2011. The association's president David Finnis confirmed that news in a brief interview with Public Eye. The news comes amidst controversy over party leader Carole James's decision to expel Cariboo North MLA from the opposition benches. Mr. Finnis also said his riding will be holding its annual general meeting on November 7, in advance of the party's provincial council meeting on November 20.
