Opposition severely split over Simpson controversy

The provincial New Democrat caucus is severely split over party leader Carole James's decision to expel Cariboo North MLA Bob Simpson from the opposition benches, Public Eye can now report. Questions were also raised about Ms. James's leadership on Tuesday, during day one of the opposition's three day caucus retreat. The divisive session wrapped up at 7:00 last night, at which point MLAs attended a scheduled dinner at a Gastown restaurant. Day two of the caucus retreat is supposed to focus on policy issues.
