To and fro

Norm Macdonald and Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Bill Bennett are in a dust-up over an op-ed the provincial New Democrat caucus chair wrote for The Revelstoke Current. In that op-ed, Mr. Macdonald stated he was "deeply troubled by the concerted effort that has been made by the BC Liberal government to discredit those who have spoken out against the HST" - a reference to the recent unearthing of past controversial statements made by recall organizers. In response, Mr. Bennett wrote that while the Columbia River-Revelstoke MLA "may think it's appropriate to defend the actions of the extremists running Bill Vander Zalm's campaign, I disagree. People have a right to know who the leaders of Bill Vander Zalm's recall campaign are and decide for themselves if they want to associate with them" - an argument Mr. Macdonald is now calling an "obfuscation."
