Bingo is the game-o

British Columbians will soon be able to play bingo online with Quebecers and Atlantic Canadians. The province's lottery corporation, along with its counterparts out east, is hiring a contractor to develop an "online bingo solution." This, according to a notice quietly posted on the government's procurement Website last week. In an email, a BCLC spokesperson explained the corporation "has been offering eBingo to its players on PlayNow.com since 2008 and we believe a multi-jurisdictional offering will enhance the player experience with more game variety and attractive jackpot prizes. Each jurisdiction benefits from this joint procurement by capitalizing on economies of scale - the resulting product offering will also help us all remain competitive with the existing offshore online gaming marketplace." Earlier, we reported BCLC is also turning to the private sector to develop a "new era of lottery games that capture the interest and excitement of new, casual player through creative game design and clever game mechanics that reflect current and emerging gaming trends." The following is a complete copy of the document accompanying the aforementioned notice.
