A new player at the table?

Langley developer Ralph Berezan is showing an interest in British Columbia's gaming industry. In January, Surrey city councillors considered an application from Mr. Berezan to build a hotel featuring conference, convention and gaming facilities in Whalley. Councillors voted to refer that application to staff for further work. But, yesterday, The Castlegar Source's Kydra Hoggan reported his company - Berezan Management Ltd. - will be constructing a gaming centre in the West Kootenay community. That building will then be leased to Terrim Properties, which will operate the centre. Terrim has been working on that project since 2006. But, in an interview with Ms. Hoggan, the company's owner Terry Segarty said it's been delayed because of financing issues.
