Double trouble?

As we reported last week, the provincial government has introduced legislation to ensure children and youth representative Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond doesn't have unrestricted access cabinet documents. But it's also worth mentioning the bill comes at a time when all the legislature's independent officers - including the representative - are already under scrutiny. As first reported by The Vancouver Sun's Vaughn Palmer, on March 3 Bill Barisoff appointed a four-member panel to review those officers. As scheduled, the panel completed its review on April 15. That report is now being considered by the legislative assembly management committee.
