Here's something you may have missed: last year, at the provincial New Democrats' biennial convention, party leader Carole James announced she would be consulting with "concerned business leaders" about how to "combine a forward-looking business climate with a more equitable society." But now the New Democrats have put some meat on the bones of that initiative, which will be called Our Province Our Future. Speaking to the party's provincial council last month, Ms. James said the consultation process will "kick off with a day-long conference April 30 that brings together leading British Columbians in a dialogue about BC's economic, social and environmental renewal." Invitations to attend that conference, which is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver and being organized by caucus rather than party staff, have already been sent to members of the business community. And a Website has been setup in support of Our Province Our Future.
