Earlier, we exclusively told you about the government-run information centre that's being setup to tell international media covering the 2010 Winter Olympics about how the province is dealing with homelessness issues in the city's troubled Downtown Eastside. Anti-poverty activists will be picketing the centre tomorrow afternoon, calling it a "propaganda office." But that's not the label BC Housing is using. The Crown agency has named the centre Downtown Eastside Connect, having already setup a Website in support of its mission. The centre is being sponsored by six private sector interests, including The Vancouver Sun and The Province.
