Town or country?

News that Randall Garrison will be the New Democrat candidate in Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca during the next federal election remains a possibility not a certainty. Earlier, we exclusively told you Mr. Garrison, who ran against incumbent Liberal Keith Martin in 2004 and 2006, was scheduled to meet with his party's local constituency association executive to discuss the issue. In an interview with Public Eye, the Esquimalt town councillor confirmed that meeting took place. But the executive "have not set a nomination date - which means I don't have to do anything," he said.

"I am considering it because I don't want a Tory majority. And I have talked to Keith and told him I'm considering it because I had told him previously I wouldn't run against him. But I already skipped an election. So now I'm thinking about it."
