If federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff believes there are "some problems" with John McKay's bill on corporate accountability for resource extraction companies, one wonders what former prime minister Jean Chretien thinks about that legislation. After all, as Public Eye earlier reported, he's now the senior international advisor for Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. Well, we may just find out in a couple hours. The reason: rumour has it Mr. Chretien may be addressing this issue when he delivers the keynote speech for tonight's Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia awards dinner.
