Those looking for consulting work with the provincial government will continue to be disappointed. Earlier, we told you how ministries have been asked to keep their professional services contracts to a minimum and make every effort to have their work done in house. And, according to the Campbell administration's most recent human resource plan - which was distributed to civil servants on Thursday - the bureaucracy can expect "further efforts to reduce the use of consultants in favour of drawing on internal expertise."

This direction might be meaningful if crown corporations are also subject to the same rules. It would be worth a FOI'd look at the contractor expenditures of crowns though, including some of the very small ones. Some are up to their necks in consultants.
