Cutting out the middle man

Today, federal Treasury Board president Vic Toews reminded Canada's Crown corporations and other public organizations they shouldn't be using paid consultant lobbyists to communicate with government. So does British Columbia's attorney general think such a stricture should be introduced here? After all, as reported by The Tyee's Andrew MacLeod, one of the province's Crown agencies actually hired a consultant to approach government about pay for its top executive. Well, here's what Mike de Jong had to say when we asked him - but not before he had a bit of sport with our camera.

Mike has to ask Gordo what he should say after all he is only the Ag and the hose leader for the liberals so really can't think by himself. He likes the perks of the jobs and Gordo holds the power to dump him
