Throwing the government a line

Earlier, we reported the provincial government had already identified a private sector partner to contribute $90 million toward its northwest transmission line project. At the time, we suggested that partner might actually be two companies: Imperial Metals Corp. and AltaGas Income Trust. And now, The Vancouver Sun's Scott Simpson revealed AltaGas Income Trust is negotiating with the government to find a "mutually beneficial outcome" related to the transmission line and three projects the company has proposed for that region of the province. This, according to a November 5 filing with stock market regulators. Fancy that!
