Blue skies smiling at them

Earlier, we reported the provincial government inked a deal to host business leaders and foreign dignitaries at the Terminal City Club during the length of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. And it seems that deal, which could worth up to $650,000, couldn't come at a better time for the club, which is experiencing "some of the same financial pressures" as other similar establishment. This, according to its president Angela Webster.

In the club's September newsletter, Ms. Webster added, "Luckily, we have the advance of our supplementary income from retail rents, parking and the pub." And a month later, she stated, "August's financial results surpassed our expectations....We are not out of the woods, but the grey skies are clearing over the path." And those skies will likely look even sunnier when the government starts entertaining Olympic VIPs at the club.
