DeSmogBlog - the Website that was accused of misrepresenting the New Democrats' position on cap-and-trade during the recent election campaign - registered as a third party advertiser. But that registration didn't have anything to do with its coverage of the campaign. Instead, in an email to Public Eye, DeSmogBlog operations manager Kevin Grandia stated he "registered as a precaution in case we wanted to do any advertising. Its an easy and free to process to register so I did it as a matter of due course. We ended up not spending any money on advertising."
