Last year, the Campbell administration was lambasted for pandering to brand-name drug companies. This, after it accepted the recommendations of a pharmaceutical task force which received free "staffing, information research supports through Rx and D" - the brand-names' lobbying association. That decision didn't stop the Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association from contributing $3,500 to the provincial Liberals during the first five months of 2009. But that association also donated $1,250 to the New Democrats. It's the first such donation recorded in Elections British Columbia's political contributions database, which includes every organization and person since 2005 who has given money to a political party.
