Hitting a Wall

Vancouver's hotel and restaurant employees union local won't be buying a table at Vision Vancouver's upcoming fundraiser at the non-unionized Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, Public Eye has learned. In an interview, the local's president Jim Pearson said, "I communicated my thoughts on it. We won't be going. But that's pretty much the end of it. I'm not going to make a public fight about that. I support Vision. My union supports Vision. And, from time to time, people have to express their views on stuff." Mr. Pearson said that communication happened "a few weeks ago."
