The young provincial Liberals have organized a video contest to see who can best promote the Campbell administration's latest throne speech or budget initiatives. But they're not looking to the federal Grits headlining "Hi, I'm a Liberal." campaign for inspiration. Instead, in an email promoting the contest - which closes today - youth president Chris Sandve uses a Conservative advertisement mocking party leader Stephane Dion as an example of the kind of video he's looking for. Fancy that! The following is a complete copy of that email.

Here are the contest details:
- Your task is to create a video “advertisement” that can be posted online.
- Your advertisement should promote the Throne Speech measures announced today and/or the 2008 Budget which will be released this coming Tuesday.
- You should focus on making your ad funny, creative and different - try and do something new that hasn’t been done before.
- You can film yourself/your friends and create your own footage and/or use existing footage that you find online, as content for your video.
To enter, you must submit a video no later than Monday March 3rd. The best way to submit your video is to post it on YouTube and send us the link. If you need help creating a video or have any questions, please let me know.
Don’t let a lack of tech savvy/resources keep you from entering - we can help (just ask!).
Here are a couple examples of good video ads:
