Taylor makes an alteration

Matthew Taylor has told the Non-Partisan Association's board of directors he won't be running for re-election as the civic party's president. The reason: Mr. Taylor recently resigned as an associate with Heenan Blaikie LLP to become corporate counsel for the Quigg Group. And his new responsibilities at the development company won't leave much time for politicking. Mr. Taylor, whose term expires in April, made the announcement at the board's last meeting, on October 10.

Not news there. There's always a change here and there with political party boars.

Regardless of how one feels about the NPA, Vision or COPE, the people that stand behind parties often get lost in the public's zeal for the "star", the candidate/representative, who cannot do without a guy like Matt.

We often forget the everyman, who toils away, quietly and purposefully, with honesty and integrity at every step of the way; the guy who cares about his city; the guy who at the end of the proverbial day is as decent as the day is long and deserves a better fate than to be stuck to a sham...

No such luck for you Matt old boy, you'll be hard to forget and even tougher to replace. The NPA were very blessed to have you.

Wind at your back my friend.

Bonne chance.
