A fresh coat of paint

There will be no incumbents running for the federal Liberal British Columbia executive at the party's upcoming biennial general meeting, Public Eye has learned. In fact, there's only going to be one contested seat - organization chair - where the race is between Sussex Solutions president Chuck Wootten and former Dion leadership campaign British Columbia Interior youth chair Adam Miron. That means, as expected, Heenan Blaikie LLP partner Craig Munroe will become the party's provincial president. Also being acclaimed: Bahadur Vinning (vice-president), former Rae leadership campaign British Columbia whip Ian Baillie (communications chair), Burnaby-Douglas constituency association president Peter Yung (finance chair), Victoria constituency association policy chair Nancy Singh (policy chair), Pushor Mitchell LLP partner Alfred Kempf (membership chair), former Cariboo-Prince George candidate Gurbux Saini (nominations chair) and National Public Relations Inc. manager John Fraser (secretary).

A quiet revolution

Its finally good to see a changing of guard in this province, which started with young liberal executive. Craig Munroe will be an excellent President

Miron is one of the most motivated an energetic up and comers in the Liberal party. The Libs would be well served to elect him to their exec.

Craig Munroe will be an awesome President for LPCBC and bring forth a new era of positive change.

Adam Miron I think is the brightest guy I know and I think hes the best for Organization Chair. I know Adam will bring fresh ideas to the table.

Adam has my vote at Sun Peaks!

Were all screwed if Chuckles the clown gets in there. God help us.

NEW PAINT . . . SAME PORK and SAME RUST !

I would vote for Adam Miron if he were running for any office at all. We've worked together for the Liberal Party for almost two years, becoming good friends. I've come to know him as one of the smartest and most resourceful people around -- he has intelligence, incredible energy, and a cool head in every situation, all of which makes him a PERFECT fit for a complex and demanding job like VP Organization.
I'm behing Adam 100%.

Maybe those behind all this support will get the LPC to pay back the money stolen from the taxpayers during Adscam.

Another good idea is also to remove the parts of the constitution that gives the leader the insane power to appoint candidates.

It takes more than a fresh coat of paint ...

This is the guy they want to be be in charge of organization of the party in B.C. ??

http://thetyee.ca/electioncentral/2006/11/29/meet-west-vans-kootenay-kid/

It seems they might never change ... is this the kind of democratic organization they want to build?

I just feel sorry for Craig Munroe, having to deal with either one of Adam Miron or Chuck Woooten would be enough to make me run for the hills. Miron seems to believe he is the next Letlotlo Lefoka. And I don't think Chuck Wooten has been part of a successful campaign in his life. For me the quality of the candidates in this election shows how few Liberals really want to get involved at this point and time.

Isn't John Fraser another of the "Anderson Hands", ... people who worked as part of David Anderson's personal staff in Ottawa?

Now that the lpcbc executive has all been acclaimed, can we get our money back for the delegate fees we paid to go to the convention. It seems a long drive to Kamloops and beyond, just to vote between Chuck Wootten and Adam Miron.

"

I would say "nope" if I had the decision to make.

That money will go back to the Ministry of Finance as repayment of the money stolen from the taxpayers by Lefleur and others running Adscam.

Since when are delegate fees ever refunded?

Chuck's a hard worker and a good Liberal. I don't know the other kid but if you dislike Chuck and choose to take time out of your day to slag him on this site, it's more a reflection on you than on him.

Don't know either, but the federal Liberals should pay back the money they stole from the taxpayers.

If we don't its more of a relection on us than those who insist on the money being paid back.

Also, might be a good idea to tone down the hoping for patronage appointments and take away the power of the leader to appoint candidates.

"Isn't John Fraser another of the "Anderson Hands", ... people who worked as part of David Anderson's personal staff in Ottawa?" Budd Campbell asks.

Yes, that is true. He is also the former business partner of Mark Marrisen's, and was a key Bob Rae fartcatcher during the leadership race. Marrisen worked for Anderson too. So did new nominations chair Gurbux Saini's son Kulwinder. And Nancy Singh served on Anderson's riding executive.

The first time I met Chuck Wooten, he was wearing one of those "Hello my name is..." tags that he'd written "Senator Chuck" on.

So exactly how is this a fresh coat of paint? The Liberal party still has its arrogance and sense of entitlement. That hasn't changed.

As for not being involved in a succesful campaign...well, that's never stopped anyone in politics from trumpeting their own horn, has it? Some of the most succesful people I know have never won a thing.

Obviously all of those that are making fun of Chuck have never met Ian Baillie, former Chief of Staff to Sophia Leung.

"Obviously all of those that are making fun of Chuck have never met Ian Baillie, former Chief of Staff to Sophia Leung."

Sophia Leung was a joke.

A candidate appointment that shouldn't have happened.

Chuck Wootten has been a dedicated Liberal all his life, and is a very strong worker. Making comments such as "I don't think Chuck Wooten has been part of a successful campaign in his life" simply belies the classic Liberal arrogance which has forced us out of government. Last time I checked, the desire to associate oneself only with the winning pony was a attribute more commonly found in those aiming to gain from the Big Red Gravy Train, which is certainly not a quality I look for in an Organizations person.
