Earlier, we reported Rick Peterson had dropped out of the federal Conservative nomination race. His campaign has now issued a statement to that effect, citing "business and personal reasons." That means University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business law division lecturer Deborah Meredith is the only candidate presently seeking that nomination. The following is a complete copy of that statement.
Dear:
I wanted to let you know that, due to business and personal reasons, I will no longer be seeking the Conservative Party nomination in Vancouver Quadra.
Thank you for your interest and support of a campaign that ends after eight months of hard work, and that clearly has helped advance the Conservative cause in Vancouver Quadra.
Sincerely,
Rick Peterson
This just dawned on me at the Quadra meeting. Joyce Murray bears a strong resemblance to Bon Scott of ACDC. During her speach I was expecting her at any minute to start belting out "Highway to Hell".
