Premier Gordon Campbell's former personal polymath may soon be taking on a new job if some federal Liberals have their way. Rhodes scholar Andrew Wilkinson, a former provincial deputy minister, is being promoted as a possible successor to Heenan Blaikie LLP partner Craig Munroe, the president of the Vancouver Quadra constituency association. Mr. Wilkinson, a trained physician and partner with McCarthy Tetrault LLP, hasn't yet returned a call from Public Eye requesting comment on such talk. Mr. Munroe is said to be thinking about running to be the Liberal's British Columbia president.
Well, then there's no need to conduct an election so the actual members can vote.
Craig Munroe's candidancy for lpcbc president raises a question. If the federal Liberal party is going to insist that 33% of it's election candidates are women, shouldn't the same standard be applied to candidates for the lpcbc executive? Why should the lpcbc executive be allowed to remain an old boys club? Why doesn't Stephane Dion insist that 33% of the candidates for lpcbc executive positions also be women? The last two lpcbc presidents have been been men! Why doesn't the Liberal leader ask Craig Munroe to stand aside and create an opportunity for a hard working woman like, perhaps, Kim Emsley-Leik to become the lpcbc's new president?
Kim for president...I like that idea.
Me too! Let's draft Kim for lpcbc president!
That is ridiculous.
How about Shannon Salter or Jane Freeman?
Kim Emsley-Leik? For LPCBC President?
At least Kim Emsley-Lake has never been subpoenaed unlike certain other recent lpcbc presidents handpicked by You-Know-Who. Maybe it's time for an lpcbe president that hasn't been handpicked by You-Know-Who. A Kim Emsley-Leik presidency could be the best thing to happen to the lpcbc in many years.
Is there any reasoning to back up these claims... like experience, or what she's done politically or otherwise to merit consideration for such a post?
There is nothing wrong with Kim. Maybe Patrick Maloney would be a good choice. Anyone but another MM puppet will do.
Dear Sinsible
Only the Gibsons, Maloney and Peter Ker would support her.
Kim should stick to her real talents:

What did Jamie Elmhurst or Bill Cunningham do politically or otherwise before they became lpcbc president? Kim was an integral part of Michael Ignatieff's Leadership campaign, impressing those who worked alongside her with her strong work ethic, integrity and organizational ability. She would make an excellent lpcbc president.

Don't be so sure about that. Everyone I've spoken to on Iggy's BC campaign seems to think very highly of her. If the Bob Rae people start supporting her as well, she has a good chance of winning.
I've already managed one of Kim's campaigns. I'd do it again!
Because her first one turned out so well for everyone involved...
This is the funniest thing I've seen here in a while.
She was an integral part of Iggys BC campaign team! How well did Iggy do in BC again?

Judging by how that campaign turned out then she should run for sure, she'll win handidly, after all she won last time...oh wait.
