Chair reaction

With a federal election just months away, Lotusland Liberals are turning their attention to the question of who will be chairing their campaign - posts previously occupied by Sharon Apsey and Mark Marissen. Early speculation is that former Rae leadership campaign British Columbia co-chair Pam McDonald and former Kennedy leadership campaign senior strategist Bruce Young are in line for those posts. And there's also talk that Rushbrooke Communications principal Mike Witherly will be the campaign director - which was Kim Haakstad's job during the last election.

More reason to fundraise. Pay for the high expected salaries for the federal Liberal hacks.

Change is good, let some new people get moved up.

best strategy would be to say to Marissen:

Mark, you've done well for us, but it's time for someone else to have a go at the desk. We're sending you to Hedy Fry as we need to keep that seat. You're the campaign guy over there, and also with Stephen Owen If you need anything, call us.

- Stephane Dion."

redgrit: too bad for you, but Marrisen is now the National Campaign Co-Chair, which means that he chooses the provincial co-chairs along with the Leader and his other co-chair Nancy Girard.

This, of course, means Marrisen would have chosen Young, McDonald and Witherly. Also, you should know that campaign co-chairs are are not paid. They volunteer their time for the party.

While he works his way to a political goodie appointment if the party wins government.

"Also, you should know that campaign co-chairs are are not paid. They volunteer their time for the party."

That would be hard to believe, since many of the other positions at that level are paid. Heck even
many provincial campaign positions are paid.

But whether he is worth it will remain to be seen.

If we lose this election, he should be out for good.
