Why did a provincial New Democrat caucus meeting on Wednesday that was scheduled to last an hour run for almost three? Could it be because MLAs were discussing caucus staff issues? Was there some talk about restructuring? Maybe the New Democrat's future strategic direction came up for debate - an issue that was reportedly raised at a party community conference last weekend by Yale-Lilooet legislator Harry Lali? Are these answers posed in the form of a question? Inquiring minds want to know!
Hopefully they were working on some policies that may actually appeal to working people and not deadbeats. It's been awhile.
Good one, Dagmar. I often wonder how this Milquetoast crowd gets to sleep at night, for blushing and squirming.
Oh. Forgot. Sleep is what they seem to do best. Dang.
I have a great idea. Instead of wondering aloud, try picking up the phone and asking Lali what he thinks. Or some other MLA's. Seems a number of MLA's are doing their critic jobs well. The guy shadowing the ferries, the ones doing th fish farms , childrens issues, welfare and so on. If they had a legislature working instead of Gordon making big policy announcments at the UBCM some real work could get done. Give them money Gordon and you will get a standing ovation every time.
Hi bemused. I did try contacting my M.L.A. (won't mention which one) and all I got were those damnable knee-jerk automatic messages vowing to get back to me ...
One time, a few years back, I wrote to Joy MacPhail just to say how much I appreciated the passionate effort she put into studying the issues and carrying them onto the floor of the House.
Know what? Although, at that time, there was only a 2-person Opposition, she wrote back immediately, saying it was messages like mine which kept her going strong.
I dunno what's wrong with this bunch. Wish I did.
