Rumours are circulating that there will be a number of staff departures from the provincial New Democrat caucus. Those said to be leaving include communication director Jim Rutkowski, Opposition leader Carole James's press secretary Scott Perchall and Karen Karagheusian, the legislative assistant to caucus whip Katrine Conroy.
So when did staffers get to be part of a parties caucus? or did I miss something?
Obviously you are not familiar with the BC NDP. The only people that call the shots in that party are the unelected staffers at the top. Especially the two who didn't resign, but should have.
So how is it that Curious George seems to have a insiderers view of the NDP? Got a membership card or are you just blowing smoke. I sort of think, blowing smoke will be the answer
So why is it, stillcurious, that you defend caucus staffers? My guess is that you have an insiders' view, and are blowing smoke. I'm just telling it like it is.
These people are all likely fairly young and need to think of their future. Holman has posted similar threads about Liberal assistants moving on as well. My guess is that it is a ton of work for lousy pay and probably few thank you’s.
I have no interest in a parties staffers. Parties hire people and give them jobs to do.I just don't believe Curious Geoerge has any more inside information that any of us so makes it up as she/he feels the need to slag a party other than the Liberal/Socred/Conservate one in BC. Have you heard the latest about the Liberal caucus staff? Neither have I
"I have no interest in a parties staffers", says 'still curious'. Well, the "beer and popcorn" remark that helped to swing the last federal election against the Liberals was uttered by a staffer, Paul Martin's assistant Scott Reid. And Reid still shows up on interview panels as a Liberal spokesperson, ... along with equally unelected spokespersons from the Tories and the NDP. So if you think staffers don't count, you're kind of overlooking reality to some degree.
