Longtime Public Eye readers will remember that, last year, staffers working at The Times Colonist were notified food and beverages would no longer be allowed in the newsroom. Why that was, who knows? Perhaps management has mistaken the newsroom for a laboratory, library or some other kind of archival institution? But happy days are here again for liquid lovers on the broadsheet's payroll. Late last month, management lifted the ban on beverages. Which means word slaves may starve at their desks but they won't dehydrate.
So what happened? Did they replace J.Jonah Jamisen with Peter Parker within the paper?
So am i too understand this news item is bigger than info on olympics budget overspending and the missing 150 million?
I suppose this breaking news item of tea in the TC is an admission that there are no cracks found in the Liberal mismanagement and hoodwinking around Olympic finances.
Oh come now, Sean doesn't report on anything that makes the Liberals look too bad...
Good lord, it's time to bring out the fast ferries again to deflect the news of a small overun of a BILLION and A HALF and counting. Gordo was just on the news repeating one more time 600 million. The Interim auditor general was wrong and he Gordo was right. The guy his committee stick handled into the job of Inerim Auditor General just stuck old Gordo. Seems the reporting methods are a bit odd and of course a number of things were lowballed. Only in BC? No Montreal got a similar shafting way back when and has just finished paying off the event that Mayor Drapeu used to say. The possiblity of a overrun is as likely as him getting pregnant. Been to the clinic yet Gordon? wonder how long the Interim Auditor general will be around?
What's a billion and-a-half?
Sean has lost his bite.
So Sean doesn't report things that make Liberals look bad? I guess that's a logical assumption to make, if you completely disregard 90% of his posts.
The NDP get more & more desperate every day. Now, Sean is part of the right-wing main-stream-media conspiracy that is the sole reason the NDP is out of power...
"The NDP get more & more desperate every day."
Wow Steve, nicely done, you didn't even mentioned the fast ferries.
God, I could just imagine the outrage from the Liberals and media if it was the NDP who had the BILLION and a HALF over run.
The we have Campbell and Hansen with fingers in their ears saying " 600 million... 600 million... I can't hear you..." over and over, while VANOC is telling us black is white.
If this report came from one of their friends I can't wait to hear how bad it really is. Sound fiscal mangers these Libracons.
And speaking of caffeine in the TC newsroom, did you read the TC editorial on the Olympic cost overruns today?
Talk about a soft lob at the Liberal accounting team. The poor schmuck who pieced that jewel together must have been threatened with a double decaf or something.
No other reason for the bold claim that we taxpayers are more than willing to happily fork out another $billion-plus so that a couple of privileged Whistler brats can try to win in 2010.
Sorry TC staffers, but "tsk, tsk", just doesn't do it when taking this gang to task.
Oh well, gotta keep those government ads coming through somehow.
