On October 18, the Non-Partisan Association will be holding their annual dinner at the The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. The cost per table: $1850. But longtime association supporters have also been invited to attend a pricer fundraiser later this month hosted by Thomas Fung, founder and chairman of The Fairchild Media Group. Those who spend $5,000 to purchase a table at that fundraiser will also receive a complimentary table at the annual dinner.
Who are the fools who would pay such an outrageous price to sit around some guys house all night? It isn't even an election year.
Pigs in the trough that's who.
Nice for the moneyed people, but what something interesting for those who volunteer and simply
don't want to spend the airfare to the UK or Australia on a dinner?
Think the NPA is getting too focused on those who do nothing more laborious than spend 2 minutes writing cheques.
While there were others out there pounding the pavement dropping pamphlets and pounding in signs and being there to watch the poll stations all day on Election Day.
They're the ones who should count too.
Hey, you guys seem to forget this is the NPA, not some middle of the road or left leaning group that might even set aside a table or two for those not born into opulence.
Let's face it, the west side's privilaged Creme de la Creme would curdle pretty quickly if they had to share a table with someone who uses mass transit.
Two minutes to write a cheque to the NPA? Not anymore, that was then, this is now.
That was before Sam Sullivan wents koo-koo for kokopuffs on the dtes and before Capri decided that we are trash collectors giving her friends in the unions less work. Anyone writing a cheque to the NPA now will think long and hard about what they are doing. Better off to send it to the foodbank.
No meat, no divaNova. Without the guy who sold twenty frickin' tables last NPA dinner nobody will pick up the slack..NPA is done like dinner.
Sammie's sizzle is all but sauce. He has created a divided caucus divided board and incompetent staff. That's a nice cocktail for the future of Vision Vancouver. Stick a fork in them.
