I guess it was inevitable...hate the ads.
Is there anyway to make the google ads a little less intrusive?
Keep up the good work!
Me, I kinda like the ads, you get a weird search-engine mangled view of what Mr. Holman has been writing about most lately, based on the subject of the said ads....
Hey, if things get slow you may want to ask Mr. Cottingham if his partner's Technorati rank is still higher than his....
.
OMG - am I the only person who thinks those ads are better suited to the right-hand side, outside the main page box?
I don't mind the ads. Sean isn't running a charity here, he has to feed his 12 kids like the rest of us.
He'll get paid about a nickel or so for every click, so support his efforts (and his youngest child, Billy-Bob).
As for the right, yes, they are more suited to the right side of the screen. However, a tremendous amount of research has been done on the subject of where people look on a page, and it is overwhelmingly the top left side, right under the title graphic. So, if he wants to maximize the revenue (which, presumably is the goal), then Sean has it in the right place.
Keep up the good work, Sean, and I hope the advertising pays off for you (and Billy-Bob).
Paul Holmes,
Just a question here... are you a non-objective observer here as you host the website? That is just a question... do not get all excited about that being somehow slanderous or something. You are an insider at publiceyeonline.
Ross, you get a :-). I have in fact outstripped my partner's ranking. Release the doves.
Now, in a desperate effort to make this an on-topic comment, none of those blogs is going to be getting Google Ads any time soon. But I'm cool with Sean putting ads on his.
