This, evidently, is not strategic information

When will Kelly Reichert step aside as executive director of the provincial Liberals? That's a question that's been posed by some party members - who note Mr. Reichert has recently spoken about doing graduate studies work. But, in an interview with Public Eye (could this indicate a New Era of openess and accountability?), party communications director Chad Pederson said rumours Mr. Reichert may be leaving are untrue. But his boss has expressed interest in working on an executive MBA off the corner of his desk.

Despite all the griping that armchair quarterbacks do (especially Liberal ones), Kelly has proven to be a clear-headed, even-keeled individual who has played a key role in building as efficient an organization that a voluntary one can be. He's a smart tactician and doesn't get caught up unnecessarily fighting today's fires -- he keeps his eyes on the goal and doesn't let whatever is today's headline distract him from the distance run.

Whenever he goes, it will be a loss. I just hope he chooses to do his Exec MBA thru Queen's, which everyone knows is the best school in Canada.

Wuld make for an interesting scenario:

"I'm Kelly Reichart visiting the campaign and I have an MBA.."

"That's nice. Here we need you to go through these folders and pull the old marked lists and sort them according to the new polls, and the results from each of the sheets need to be tabulated.

Here's 30 folders to go through. Sorry pal, but unless you're the Premier, an MLA or the candidate we're only interested in getting the work done to win the riding. We don't have time to ooh or ahh over a university degree.

The coffee filters are over there, and the milk
is in the fridge, and the cups are over there.
Be sure to wash out your cup when you're done.

We'll also be heading out on our evening route, so be sure you have your workgloves handy. If you don't have any, we'll give you a pair. Everyone on this campaign works signs. We'll want 20 to 30 signs up by the time its get dark
so be sure you can keep up with the crew. They
don't stop for food until the end of the work session.

Welcome to our campaign."

Yes....he should look to Queen's. The Liberal cuts to education in BC.....of course means that for quality education he should look east.

Good on Mr. Reichert for looking to further his education; however, it would seem to be that this is hardly a story. It is quite common for people whether in politics or the private sector to pursue something like an Executive MBA while still working full-time at their regular job.

Look,
This is what I think's happening: Kelly can see what's happening in Victoria. Martyn Brown is now making a DM's salary and what does Kelly need to do in order to get a pay raise? Get some letters behind his name.

Everybody knows Gordo loves those technocrats!

Onward and upward young Skywalker....

I'm happy to see Reichert is doing well. The BC Libs have been doing a lot of successful, well attended, grassroots events lately. I think he deserves a lot of credit for laying the groundwork for that to happen.

True. Nothing much in this story. Not everyone
goes for an MBA, but many like myself persue
continual studies.

A story of someone going after a Master's while
getting the good money working is hardly a ground
breaking story.

But one wonders if KR has actually learned the basics. Some MBA holders don't know their fundamentals when it comes to handling people based groups
and I've met a few who aren't practical thinkers.

Memo to Kim Berly: We you ever stuck working an NDP campaign by any chance? Your post brings up so many memories! But of course, things have changed with the advent of the computer. We've gone from lost file boxes of marked paper lists to unreadable CDs that represent the entire canvass effort of the previous election. This we are told is progress.
