Squatting on principle

On Wednesday, Surrey Now's Tom Zytaruk reported Dona Cadman, the widow of independent MP Chuck Cadman, announced she would be running for the federal Conservative nomination in Surrey North to carry on her late husband's legacy. Of course, some of our astute readers might find that decision somewhat odd given that New Democrat Penny Priddy - whom Ms. Cadman endorsed during the last federal election - presently represents the riding. But we digress. Moving along, your humble organ also notes Ms. Cadman now has her own Website. Curiously, though, the email contact for the would-be candidate - bcconservative@gmail.com - is the same address used by the provincial Conservatives. In an interview with Public Eye, party president and sneaky Web monkey Ryan Warawa explained the situation this way: "I noticed that (Ms. Cadman) hadn't gone ahead and registered her own domain" - so he did so on her behalf. "I just wanted to prevent any Web (gerrymandering)," continued Mr. Warawa somewhat jokingly - a reference to his own Internet hijinks. He added that he's happy to transfer the address to Ms. Cadman at any point.

The kid has too much time on his hands.

What does it say about someone who is "leader" of a party with no meat on it's bones?

Nice purple/maroon jacket by the way Ryan (website picture)...I think the rest of us either burned them on the dancefloor at Systems or sent them off to the S/A in the late eighties.......

Wow, those are some pretty mean and personal attacks. While I don't share Mr. Warawa's provincial political views...perhaps if you're going to post a comment you could stick to the subject at hand...not his fashion sense (or lack of in your opinion). Then, perhaps you might seem a little more credible...or maybe you're just trying to get a cheap laugh by putting someone else down. Must make you feel very important.

Groan:

I don't know if you meant for your handle to be the sound I made when I read your crazy diatribe but thanks for giving me some irony to appreciate.

Ryan: Keep up the good work

Groan: For the record, it's a "wine" coloured jacket. But given your comments, you can call it "whine" all you want.

Andrew: Gimme a shout when you're next in Vancouver!

Nick: Thanks for your email about my suave wine coloured jacket, even though you didn't leave a comment on Public Eye Online! The CCNBC events will be updated!

Nicole: Sorry... I didn't know that you were Conservative Girl. You can call me anytime you're in Vancouver!

Mr. "Wawawa" is simply an agitator.

I am neither a sympathizer of VV or Dona or anyone else, whose natural website Mr. "Wawawa" has temporarily hijacked. I am a life long Conservative who recognizes that the ultra right amoung us do nothing but injure the party.

McVie and others whom have posted here before think Mr. "Wawawa" is doing us a service.....well then go to his website, he doesn't hesitate to put himself in a philosophical conflict of interest when he reprints letters to the editor from Langley defending, of all people, his father.

Ryan has too much time on his hands. He offers the occasional laugh when sporting his bordeaux coloured jacket and pontificating about what he sees as "the future."

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.

If Groan whines like a leftie and has the fashion sense of a leftie, then he/she/it must be a member of the loonie left.

Groan is as much of a "lifetime Conservative member" as David Orchard is.

What a fascinating party the Conservatives are. Their party president puts himself in a position to determine who is and is not a Conservative. Not much of a big tent, are they?

Congrats Ryan on getting a picture on the website of Dona Cadman herself! Although Dianne Watts is still featured very prominently on the website, at least you got a picture of Dona that was more than the back of her head, with Diane's big smiling face against a backdrop of Diane campaign posters. With all that Diane paraflanaila on Dona's website, one would imagine that Diane is publically supporting Dona. Even though I haven't heard anything in the news to verify this assertion, I would imagine that a self-proclaimed political whiz like yourself, the King of the Warawarriors, would do the proper authorizations and such prior to posting such a picture in the public domain?

One last question though, looking at your postings dated at various times this afternoon, how come you didn't make it out to Langley's rolling countryside to partake in your daddy's bun toss?

Ryan is an agitator, but is that a bad thing? I don't think so. That VV stunt was hilarious. How can Ryan do anything to hurt the British Columbia Conservative Party? The last time they got someone elected was 1975! I'm a centrist so I am all for Ryan sabotaging both fringes of the political spectrum. Keep up the good work!

None of this matters anyways, Donna isn't going to take Surrey North away from Penny. Surrey North is the most unionized, working class part of Surrey. Chuck was an anomaly winning as a Reform/CA candidate, and many people voted for him and his ideas instead of the party. Donna will have to start from the bottom, and as an relatively unknown candidate, party backing means everything.
