This weekend, federal Conservative's national council members will discuss a recommendation to hold the party's biennial convention at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The committee responsible for making that recommendation - which included party vice-president Richard Ciano, British Columbia councillor Byng Giraud and Saskatchewan councillor Sam Magnus - also considered the Calgary Telus Convention Centre. But accomodations are cheaper in Winnipeg. And there may have been some concern that celebrating the Conservative election victory in Sandstone City could give opponents another excuse to accuse the Tories of being an Alberta-based party. The convention is expected to be scheduled for March or May.
It should be Vancouver but it will probably not happen if it's set after March as that's when the election will take place.
Next March is about when the Bush impeachment hearing could begin:
A. dereliction of duty re New Orleans
B. didn't bug a hotel, spied on a whole nation
C. going to war under false pretences
And then everyone will be wondering why the CPC links itself so strongly with the American Republican Party - the timing of the CPC convention could be interesting... very very interesting.
"Next March is about when the Bush impeachment hearing could begin:"
Yeah right, as if that's going to happen.
"And then everyone will be wondering why the CPC links itself so strongly with the American Republican Party - the timing of the CPC convention could be interesting... very very interesting."
and others wonder why people come up with such
mindless statements like that.
But then one can wonder about the mindset of federal Liberals allowing Adscam and earlier, the
cost overruns of the Human Resources Department to happen..
...not to mention that the leader of the federal Liberals has the power to appoint candidates going over the democratic process of the constituencies.

Tim, there were no actual cost overruns at HRDC. The Auditor General complained of inadequate documentation on contracts, a legitimate beef up to a point, but did not claim that budgets had been exceeded in any material way.
Where'd you get that crystal ball Eugene? Hook a brother up. Who's gonna win the Cup?

They impeached Clinton for oral sex... there will be Dem payback to the Reps somehow for that and impeachment of Bush may not be hard; the three stated reasons have merit.

You have probably been to BloggingTories... they state the relationship openly... they go to US Rep events, post photos and brag about the relationship and their support. Don't take my word for it... read it for yourself.

Proceedings were about Clinton lying to a Congressional Committee, not about oral sex per se. The impeachment proceedings began or were about to begin (there's an investigation to see if impeachment hearings have merit and should go or not go, but they were never concluded to the point where in a legal sense, Clinton was constitutionally impeaced. Clinton resigned before the impeacment hearings concluded.
Big difference.
"You have probably been to BloggingTories... "
Never heard of it, and not particularly interested.
"they state the relationship openly... they go to US Rep events, post photos and brag about the relationship and their support."
Small group of individuals. They are members,
but are not the majority. There's nutbars in
every political party, even the NDP and Liberals.
Same thing happens with the NDP when they go to
support socialist things such as Socialist International. Liberals have been supportive of
other Liberal governments and are a member of an
international group of Liberal related parties.
"Don't take my word for it... read it for yourself."
Not interested. Predictable. I'll stick with Public Eye Online.
More Canadian. If I need to read about the Republicans, they have websites at the national
and the state level.
Tim McElvorie wrote re blogging tories' bragging about CPC US Reps associations: "Small group of individuals. They are members, but are not the majority. There's nutbars in every political party, even the NDP and Liberals."
photos and associations are of people like: Stockwell Day, John Reynolds, Stephen Harper.
As for your comments on the Clinton impeachment... you might want to repost as you are factually wrong on every point - probably due to mistypings (seveal mistypings).
