Internal affairs

It looks like our favourite provincial Liberal field organizer has added another bullet to his resume. Your humble organ has confirmed earlier reports from one of our astute readers that Brian Bonney is now styled as the party's operations director - responsible for constituency development. Looks like all that campaigning on behalf of Coquitlam First has final paid off. Meanwhile, the rumour mill is running with reports matinee idol and Young Liberal president Dallas Henault will soon be working as an assistant to party executive director Kelly Reichert. But, in an interview with Public Eye, communications and member services director Chad "C.J." Pederson declined to confirm Messrs. Henault and Bonney's new postings saying, "It's operational information we deem internal."

Re Bonney - Those who do can those who can't become Liberal flunkies.

Why would Richert need a paid assistant?

To get his coffee and carry his lunch?

....and the dots begin to connect.

The fact that the Dippers aren't jumping all over this Coquitlam First stuff really does astound me.

How many people who made the comments here are really know Brian Bonney in person and has worked with him? It seems like the worst part is Brian is wearing a BC Liberals Party hat; other than that, he is doing a great job, or his name would not be mentioned here again and again.

The fact that Liberal party members aren't jumping all over this is even more astonishing.

But then again, they are the same people who are letting the Socreds and Conservatives have their way with the party.

What ever happened to BC Liberals? I guess they must have joined the NDP, because they certainly aren't in the BC Liberal party.

" he is doing a great job, or his name would not be mentioned here again and again."

The guy runs for Mayor, unsuccessfully, and almost gets sued. The guy is a good example of someone who should not be paid in politics. There are plenty of more deserving volunteers for those paid posts.

All I can say is that you're both wrong.

Bonney's flaw appears to be that he a loyal footsoldier for Reichert & Co.

Same goes for Dallas Henault, although his ego is far larger than Bonney's could ever be. He's been the Reichert & Co's "chosen one" among the youth for about the past 3 years or so.

Oh...just like the members of MOD in the recent movie "Thanks for Smoking" - JUST FOR MORTGAGE.

Congratulations Brian!

What I really like about this post is properly IDing Chad's alias "C.J." what moniker is he going to use when he calls into open line shows now that C.J. is gone. Chad (CJ) Pederson is on Bill Good more than Prem (Peter) Vinning. I am not being critical, its just politics and all parties do it but I just find it funny, thinking up fake names is hard. Poor CJ.

Amazing that Pederson can find the time to waste phoning into radio shows with obvious support for the Premier, but can't find the time to research and develop the BC Liberal Party website so that it actually encourages people to join and get involved.

The NDP website is far more volunteer related and friendly.

No wonder the BC Liberals don't want people volunteering.

It's easy to critique from the bleachers but lay off, people get involved in politics because they agree with the ideals of a given group/party. Just because someone works for a private group that gets a lot of publicity doesn't mean they need, nor should become the target of baseless attacks. No one comes to your place of employment to tell you that you're doing a crummy job, and there is no reason to do that in this case, even if it were true which I don't believe it to be.

I think "C" is mising the point on "people coming to you place of employment and telling you that you are doidng a a crummy job". C I'm sorry to break it to you but most of the haters that blog on this site HAVE NO JOBS !!!

Hey so what if peoel from the central office or campaigns to call into call in shows. That's standard operating procedure (last campaign I was Roy from Cadboro Bay) Maybe if the NDP did a bit more of this trenchwork instead of trying to WOW people with their policies they would do better.

Also, on Dallas, he worked with me in Oak Bay GH last year. He is a great young political organizer. If the BC Libs had 50 more people like him they maybe could have won 60 seats. People that slag Dallas do so out of jealousy !
