Red carpet blues

This just in from the world of news that isn't going to happen anytime soon: those who drink from the federal Liberal watering hole are gabbermongering about former Doman Industries Ltd. chief executive officer Rick Doman. According to said gabbermongers, Mr. Doman has been sniffing around for a Grit nomination. But, for some reason, the Liberal brass didn't roll out the red carpet. And, in any case, his olfactory glands have since lost interest in the nomination.

Next thing , your contacts will be telling you Ricks friend Moe Sihota would be heading for the conservatives. Last time we saw Rick he was at a NDP nominations event along with Moe. ( Were were there to see who else was there)They looked pretty comfortable there and a lot of the crowd seemed to know him. Maybe it was his ongoing attempts to keep the employees working and the jobs in the communities.

But maybe the grits can find another relation of Wayne Gretsky still available.

Classic rich-kid-thinks-he's-a-Kennedy syndrome.

Give us a break. Ricky had best sit with the crusty classes and forget public life.

Well, one things for sure, if elected, Minister of Finance is out of the question.....

Well Rick was at the Federa Liberal Convention in Richmond on the weekend. Lot's of provincial New Democrats are federal Liberals.

Once Again...that is the funniest thing I've ever seen you post.

If I was Rick Doman, I would demand the same treatment that Ujjal and Emerson got, and now Michael Ignatieff. An uncontested nomination and a guarantee of staff and cash for the campaign.

That, however, brings up a small problem. The Liberals haven't been raising even half as much as the Tories.

To be clear, Rick is no Emerson, Ignatieff or frankly even Ujjal.

Screw him. If he doesn't want to go, fine.

It ain't like he has done anything with his career before, during or after Doman went down.

Bill...I can be funny...this Rick Doman story and too much Tabasco on the eggs this morning and I was up for a little relief myself....

What a joke, once again, that this kind of fellow would be hailed by the Liberalistas as a quality candidate!

But it doesn't surprise me at all, really, since Prime Minister Dithers is a charter member of the Lucky Sperm Club.

As I said, Minister of Finance, is definitely out of the question for our Ricky.....

Once Again:

Sorry to see you have such a problem with reading comprehension. You wouldn't do well on the LSAT. The article points out that Doman will not be running as a federal Liberal candidate because of a failure to roll out the red carpet.

Not that I expect you to be able to comprehend the contents of my post either. So just go ahead and keep on tearing down Mr. Doman. As we all know, anyone who isn't a Conservative is a depraved lunatic in your books.

I'm always amused when some Conservatives show a bias against business people.

Spoken like a true Liberal Organization Man!

Tell me, Ricky, was Dosanjh in charge of the "furry carpet" talks for Doman, as he was for Grewal??? You do recall the Party busting its balls trying to recruit Grewal, don't you? And how Terry Milewski had to drop everything and run interference once the damn story started to spill over? Did Dosanjh tell Doman that "Cabinet is quick"?

I hear that Gerry Scott wants to put out some special yard signs in Vancouver South with U's photo on them and the deathless quote "Cabinet is quick". What do you think, Ricky, would such a special edition yard sign become a collector's item, kind of like a 1952 Ike and Dick button?

Posted by Budd Campbell on November 29, 2005 01:27 PM

Oh Billy boy, what will we do with you.....young and vacant enough to pine over an LSAT analogy? Amusing, for a mental midget, but not for me.

The story leaves open the possibility of Doman's interest, and having checked before writing, he's still interested, partly. Whether true or not, is irrelevant. I used the info in YOUR POST to ask close friends about Ricky's interest, those that were also there in Richmond on the weekend at the Librano latherfest. You better get your facts straight.

And after praising Haakstad and Young, both dyed in the wool Grits, your comment about what I think of those not Conservative, is, well, wrong...but unsurprising.

Perhaps before proferring advice about reading comprehnsion, dear lad, you should save some for yourself.
