Slightly used politico, still works like brand new

The weekend's Terminal City election results mean Vision Vancouver mayoral candidate Jim Green will soon be checking the classifieds. But he's not the only one. Mayor Larry Campbell's executive assistant Geoff Meggs will also be out on the job market. But the question is, who'll be picking him up off the politico shelf? According to our operatives, the British Columbia Federation of Labour - where Mr. Meggs once worked as a communications director - is rumoured to be interested. But don't expect to see Mr. Meggs at 5118 Joyce Street until the New Year.

Let's be realistic. Who thinks Mr. Meggs was ever asked to vacate his office at the BCFed.

As you well know, Chris, labour doesn't have the resources that business has. His position would have been filled.

Your suggestion is just anti-union sarcasm, the kind of material that former plumber's union official Phil Hochstein pumps out as part of his little game of revenge politics ... a game he's been playing for three decades since the union fired him.

How does Phil Hochstein (someone about whom I know nothing) come into this?

My comment was not mere sarcasm, as you know. I wasn't fired by a union. I was hijacked by a union, then hung, drawn and quartered by my employer, the union and the entire labour relations mafia.

Now they are jointly demanding thousands of dollars from me to pay their legal mercenaries. Feel free to comment on what I did to earn that treatment?

Hey, but that's another story, right? One we don't want to get into.

I'd love to hear the story

I can't get into it on this web site unless I am invited to do so. The story has been quite thoroughly documented at the Members for Democracy website (www.ufcw.net), as you will see if you go there and enter "Budgell" in the search window.

The latest information is the current "Active Topic", Open Letter to B.C. Legislative Assembly (http://www.ufcw.net/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=001196), introducing a letter in which I have presented compelling evidence of a conspiracy (of which I was one of many victims)dating back to at least 1994 and perpetrated by, among others, the adjudicators at the B.C. Labour Relations Board.
