Fulfilling a campaign promise

We know some of you out there in cyberland follow the movements of federal Liberal power couple Christy Clark and Mark Marissen with the same scrutiny reserved for British royalty. So, in the interesting of keeping our voracious readers sated, we bring you this development: reached on his cell phone, Mr. Marissen confirmed the couple (and wee Hamish) have now moved into their new Vancouver home - just one day before the civic election. "I'm sitting in my new house watching my new TV" even as we speak, the arch-politico said. "We packed up everything yesterday and we moved today. And we sold our house a few weeks ago for almost as much as we're paying for the new house." When Ms. Clark announced she would be running for the Non-Partisan Association's mayoral nomination back in August, the now former Port Moody resident promised she would be moving to Vancouver.

Quick! Someone get the smelling salts for Budd Campbell!

Well, she said she was going to move and she did. I hope she remains actively interested in the civic political scene in Vancouver. She can deliver us from Jim Green in three years - just in time for the Olympics.

So much wishful thinking..so little grasp of reality. Christy is damaged goods. I'll bet they could sell their half house and buy a whole one in Ottawa with enough change left over to start a small, private back room 24hr boozecan/sushi bar and cater to politicos drunk on power and puffery.

Now we musn't judge The Clarke duo that harshly. as she said when leaving the provincial liberals. She was leaving to be with her son. Maybe they have a nicer school near the place they live. They are a bit closer to the airport if the other half is still working closely with ottawa. Maybe Christy will be taking a run at some riding for the federal team but then again she does everything for her child. and the writer above seems to agree that Jim Green will be mayor as of this time tommorrow.
