Earlier, Public Eye reported former provincial Liberal backbencher Sheila Orr and ex-party multiculturalism chair Jag Dhanowa would be running for the federal Liberal nomination in Saanich-Gulf Islands. And when will this rumble in the hobby farm jungle take place? According to our operatives, the candidates were notified last night that the nomination meeting will be held on November 20.
Howard Kurtz to be meeting's keynote speaker
November 8, 2005

I don't know Jag Dhanowa, but I assume he must be a better choice than Sheila Orr.
this one will be a nomination meeting to watch for pure comedy.
I do hope there's disabled parking available!
Please! Sheila's a terrific candidate. She had a very good reputation as a hard working provincial MLA who was feisty and independent.
This disabled parking thing has been blown so far out of proportion its not even funny. The woman has arthritis and its painful for her to walk.
I think most disabled people will likely remember her more for fighting the good fight behind the scenes for the largest increase in the disability allowance in the history of BC, which was a well known cause of hers before any of the this parking crap came along.
The joke in this race is Gary Lunn, who never emerges out of North Saanich or Sidney, who flip flopped between supporting the Iraq War and running like hell from his comments when it turned into the disaster most predicted, who flip flopped between just about every leadership candidate in the race when the illustrious Stockwell Day won the race, and who has done essentially nothing in his time as an MP in Ottawa.
I'll grant you he's a terrific complainer. He'll moan to the high heavens about how awful and corrupt the Liberals are all campaign - all because the last things he wants to talk about are his own crushingly unpopular leader and all of the backwards policy priorities of the Conservatives.
I'm tired of all the far left and far right lurkers on this board having free reign to spew their crap. Time to take some of you jokers on.
Good for you Jerry...I wondered when you would open your stupid mouth again.
While I agree with your assessment of the Tories you must have lost your memory or think that everybody is dumber than you. The BC Liberals undermined payments to many disabled people during their first term and Sheila Orr has to be the worst excuse for an MLA the Victoria area has ever seen. Her 'disability' is self inflicted due to a lifetime of over indulgence and I would be happy to prove that in a court of law.
Bring it on a*****e.
Sheila was soooo sad when she left messages on everyone's machines during the last election begging for votes.
She did nothing of any effect counter to Campbell, then she tried to distance herself from him when it was far too late.
Shit or get off the pot.
Begging for votes with a teary eyed voice will likely not let her win in this election.
I swear it must be Sheila herself writing support up above. I don't know anyone else in their right mind who could make such hilarious claims that she was 'a terrific candidate' and 'hard working MLA.'
She was a laugh fest in caucus, and a laugh fest in the last election, and the nomination meeting will be a laugh fest if she wins.
I say nothing about the handicapped parking spot, any disability she may have or anything like that.
I only speak to her (lack of) political know-how and (lack of) effectiveness and (lack of) political spine.
'Terrific candidate'. HAHAHAHAHAAHA. That's rich.

How many personalities do you have?
Three and counting....
PS: I think you must not only be less then 5'7" but ugly as well.
Hi Sheila/no angel
How pleasant to hear from you again. I know it is unlikely that you will ever realise just how pathetic it is for someone to run for public office for no other reason than to stroke their own ego but everybody else already knows that you have got to be the poster girl for all that is wrong with Canadian politics.
Sleeps (you little boy):
I thought it was Sheila Copps - you know the other Sheila - who is "the poster girl for all that is wrong with Canadian politics".
no angel
There is no mistaking the lack of wit and petulant anger that you display in your posts. Anyone who knows you will instantly recognize 'no angel's' output as the silly ranting of Sheila Orr.
It's obvious you don't have a clue who I am but I can safely say anyone who visits this site and reads your petty retorts now has a very clear idea what you are all about.
Sleeps:
How about Jack Layton then - that slimey used car salesman - as "...the poster boy for all that is wrong with Canadian politics". Oh...but I forgot he is the heir to St. Tommy Douglas - the patron saint of all Canadian socialists! But then...what would Tommy say. Would he agree or disagree?
PS: Unfortunately, I know you all to well you very pathetic, sad, little man.
If you knew who I was you would have revealed that already. Instead you choose to continue to expose your shallow intellect and miserable attitude with your nonsensical bs.
Wow Sheila, I knew you were a twit but I really didn't know how desperate and thin skinned you could be.
I don't know which is funnier..that you don't know that reports of your stupid ranting here will make the rounds at your nomination meeting or that you don't care. Either way your days in politics are numbered...a politician can survive being either stupid or nasty but not if they are stupid and nasty.
Good luck Sheila, and may the best woman win, leave the angels out of it you lot.
