Vision Vancouver loses sight of its own sites

If your having trouble locating Vision Vancouver's Website, you can partly blame provincial Conservative president Ryan Warawa. Just before city councillor Jim Green's civic party officially announced their new moniker, Mr. Warawa purchased the domain names visionvancouver.org, visionvancouver.net and votevisionvancouver.ca, votevisionvancouver.com, votevisionvancouver.org and votevisionvancouver.net. That blocked Mr. Green from using any of those addresses. Instead, Vision Vancouver's Website can be found at the far less intuitive votevision.ca. Mr. Warawa - the son of Langley Conservative MP Mark Warawa - is using his Internet pages to post information critical of Vision Vancouver. A version of this article was originally published in today's edition of 24 hours.

Another sign yet of the brilliance of the Monckton crew. So organized... yet they were caught napping and were late registering their domain name. What a screw up. Warawa's 'trick' is pretty commonplace nowadays and could easily have been predicted. But not if you only talk to the same 10 people every day. Looks like the VV campaign is going to be another recycled version of the wards fiasco.

Would you like chicken wings with your pizza?

Buying up the sites like that is pretty creepy. You'd think that it would be illegal or something.

It can probably be challenged in civil court. If publicized it will backfire on CCRAP because yes...it is creepy.

The only thing that's creepy is whining lefties! Oh well, the only thing that lefties ever do is protest!

And the Vision Vancouver monckys can't even organize a protest. Well, maybe a 'whine-in'. But even then, the attendance will only be about 15 people.

It is a sleazy tactic but it is ultimately an utmost predictable one and if those monctonites did not have their heads inserted so far up their bums into their rectum it is possible that they might have anticipated this tactical manoevre and spared their chosen candidate the embarassment of having a grossly unintuitive url.

"Another sign yet of the brilliance of the Monckton crew."

Somebody REALLY doesn't like this Monckton guy/girl, ... whoever they are. Is there a reason for this, ... like for example, one of the Monckton people got a job that someone else wanted?

There could be a infinite number of reasons why one might object to these talentless people who have turned the political left into a social club.

As you are physically removed from the Van civic scene by quite a few klicks, you can be forgiven for not knowing that Neil Monckton chaired the campaign that had COPE taking 8 out of 10 seats in city hall in 2002.
We have to talk softly now because this 'person' using multiple handles to slag Neil, his crew and yours truly is a borderline psychotic timebomb. He/she/it is also a staunch union defender so we need to tread gently and not light he/she/it's fuse...maybe just bat he/she/it around a bit like a cat and it's prey.
I wouldn't suggest making a meal of it though as there is little doubt of he/she/it's toxic nature.

Sleepswithangels really is a booster of the funcky crowd and Budd, you can be forgiven for not knowing who Neil Monckton is even if you do live in Vancouver. The funcky crowd is totally unaccomplished, they lose campaigns frequently, and they treat people badly. The VV wipeout will be their crowning achievement, before they go back to slinging egg mcmuffins and hash browns at the local drive thru.

Well, whatever Neil Monckton's accomplishments/failures may be, I am expecting the race between Jim Green and Sam Sullivan to be one of the closest in years. For the rest, I expect COPE to lose ground on council, but some of that is going to VV, rather than NPA.

Really, the fact that Ladner wouldn't even run said it all. He is waiting for Mayor Jim Green to preside over a big bust in the Vancouver real estate market when interest rates finally go up and the US economy turns down. Then the Mayor's office will be ripe for the picking, claiming that Green ruined Vancouver's economy just the way Glen Clark did to all of BC (ie, the standard, off-the-rack BC Business Council, Business in Vancouver propaganda line).

But Ladner may have outsmarted himself. If RAV goes totally bust first, and if there is opposition to Gateway, ... the BC Liberal Govt may have to step in early and impose amalgamation. In which case Green would then be seeking re-election to the Mayor's chair for all of the GVRD, and with local homeowners mad at the right for lumping them all together. Definitely the right thing to do, IMO, but it will probably cost the right one or two local elections before people forgive them for stepping on toes and upsetting apple carts.

I guess I don't may much attention to what goes on in the NPA..I missed the news that Ladner wasn't running. Looks like I will be buying a round for everyone at the JA on election night.

Um, check out www.peterladner.ca or www.npavancouver.ca/peter-ladner/, unless he changed his mind over the weekend. I know to my loss that he was accepting cheques as recently as last Monday.

So he is running..I guess that means everybody will be buying me a round if my prediction pans out that COPE/VV will take 9 of 10 seats.
I also wagered that if the result was 10-0 for COPE/VV... I would buy all a round of pitchers of beer.
