Lost and found

The provincial Liberals may have gained a MLA when former pollster Joan McIntyre was elected in West Vancouver-Garibaldi. But her election meant the Non-Partisan Association also lost its principle public opinion researcher. There's no need for tears though, because our tipsters tell us a replacement has been found: Greg Lyle, managing director of the Innovative Research Group Inc., who was the campaign planning director for Liberals during the (insert adjective) 1996 election. And, according to the rumourmill, the Campbell administration's former caucus communications director Mike McDonald, will be working with Mr. Lyle on that file.

But, when asked about those rumours Mr. McDonald said, "As I've said to you before, I don't discuss client work...I have not done any formal work with Greg as of yet. I may well do more work with Greg or may do work with Greg but nothing has happened yet." Mr. McDonald is married to Jessica McDonald, the premier's deputy minister, and is the founder of Rosedeer Strategies Inc.

So a consulting practice from Ladysmith is going to be helping a Toronto-based strategy firm get a candidate from Port Moody the job of Mayor of Vancouver?

Ah... You gotta love BC politiks...

I am so glad Greg Wilson is gone from the fed lib circles and is now leaking information about the NPA to this website. What a great campaign manager.

It has recently been brought to my attention that on August 29 someone submitted the above posting under the name Coco and linked it to an e-mail address that would imply to those reading the posting that I had been responsible for the comment. I wanted to write to inform everyone that nothing could be further from the truth. Furthermore I would like to apologize to anyone who may have been offended by this immature little stunt.

If I have an opinion or observation that I would like to share on this or any other discussion on this forum I will do so gladly using my name and my name only and not hiding behind and anonymous posting or seeking to imply that that someone else is responsible for the comment. That is not my nature nor my character. I would appreciate it if in future the spineless coward responsible for this particular posting had the guts and backbone to do the same and use their name, refrained from using mine or anyone else’s for that matter. Sincerely Coco.
