Exposing the hidden agenda

Speaking of Websites, junior federal Grits are dismayed to discover notorious Tory shit-disturber Ryan Warawa, the son of Langley MP Mark Warawa, has captured the domain name youngliberal.ca. According to information available via the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, the site is "dedicated to exposing the hidden agenda of the Liberal Party of Canada." Such dedication currently consists of posting an old Georgia Straight column by our 24 hours colleague Bill Tieleman reporting on the connections between the federal Liberals and those targetted by the police raid on the legislature. Mr. Warawa, who is presently on vacation, has not yet responded to an interview request from Public Eye.

What goes around, comes around. It's good to see the Libs getting a taste of their own medicine!

Drat! And here I thought the Young Liberals were finally coming to their senses by running my articles!

Posted by Bill Tieleman on August 24, 2005 08:46 AM

The Warawa's are among the darlings of one Jordan Bateman, a youngish, well-known, hard-right Langley Bible-Belt Blogger. Bateman is closely connected to Rich Coleman provincially.

Allow me to correct Mr. Campbell--

If by my "darlings," you mean "I'm not a big fan of the Warawas," then Budd is accurate. Those poor souls who read Langley Politics will know I have no great love for Marky Mark and his Warawarriors.

As for "Hard right": I'm less right wing than you think, Buddster, but I suppose even a centrist would seem right wing to you.

29 is only youngish? Sigh. I guess I'm getting old--Sean Holman old.

Posted by Jordan on August 24, 2005 09:54 AM

My mistake, Jordan. I was sure I had read material on Langley politics that seemed to follow the movements of the Warawa clan with keen interest. One of them had opened an office in Burnaby or North Van or something, to seek a nomination there, and this was covered with what seemed to be a highly approving eye.

As for the age thing, haven't you heard? A (young person/old person) is someone who is (younger/older) than you are. At the moment.

Its amazing how Budd pigeon-holes everyone. I guess I'm in good company with you Jordan B since Budd thinks that i'm also a rabid right winger. I guess in his books if you use common sense to guide you and enjoy friendships with people from across the political spectrum, you are consideredby him to be a bad person and an extreme right wing zealot!

Hard to look at Langley politics without mentioning Poppy Warawa and his offspring, unfortunately. Read a little closer next time, Budd.

Posted by Jordan on August 24, 2005 01:22 PM

that's right not all of us here in Langley love the Marky Marks...and his offspring seems like he's up to no good with this phony younglibs web site scam!!! Can you say "passing off" in a legal suit?

It's amazing how storms can brew while you're having fun on vacation! :)

Sean: I'm back in town for a couple of days before heading off to Mexico for a week. Feel free to call me if you want any more info.

Bill: I loved reading your columns in the Georgia Straight, although I didn't always agree with you 100% of the time. I'm glad to continue reading yours and now Sean's articles in 24 Hours. Of course, I fancy Erin Airton's columns as well... especially having worked with her on several campaigns together!

Budd: Jordan's correct: he has nothing positive or constructive to ever say about me or my family. You are correct that Jordan's the head cheerleader for Rich Coleman. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Jordan's company Outlawed Wonderings has done work for Rich. Mind you, Jordan also writes anything positive about any BC Liberal, including Mary Polak.

Jordan: I have to agree with you that you're not hard right. Also, being a fellow 29'er, I guess we're both getting old!

Jamie Lee: I'm looking forward to you getting elected in Vancouver this November! I also value friendships across the political spectrum -- working with others on common issues, rather than dogmatic labels.

Pinko: Nice try on attempting to register youngtories.ca! ;)
